CHOW Meeting Minutes
Monday, May 4, 2026

Father Kish Parish Hall
The following members were in attendance: Becky & Bill Costas, Georgann Haines, Sharon Hopkins and Robin Hefner
Bill Costas opened the meeting with a prayer thanking God for allowing our group to continue in our work.
Georgann Haines made a motion to to approve the November 3, 2025 meeting minutes. Sharon Hopkins seconded.
Treasurer Report:
Bill Costas gave two treasurer reports as our January 19, 2026 meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather.
January Report 1/19/2026
The beginning balance was $2,839.04. Income: Maggie Shilakis Memorial Donations - $690.00 Benevity- Liberty Mutual (November, 2025 ($29.80) -December 2025 ($35.76)= $65.56; Expenditures: U-Haul Trailer for delivering Christmas food to Grahn, Kentucky- $81.59 leaving a Current balance of $3513.01.
May Report 5/4/2026
The beginning balance was $3513.01. Income: Quiz Night Gross - $958 Benevity- Liberty Mutual $95.36 (January - April $23.84/month; Expenditures: Quiz Night Supplies - $63; Data Resolutions website - $325.00 leaving a Current balance of $ 4,178.37.

A motion was made by Sharon Hopkins to accept both Treasurer's Reports. Georgann Haines seconded.
Old Business:
Warehouse:
- A workday was held 11/13/25 to sort and pack donations from St. Robert rummage sale to send to Grahn with the food delivery. Items sent were bird items, strawberry kitchenware and yarn. Grahn asked us to hold off on the Christmas decorations since they had already decorated for Christmas.
- On 12/30/2025, Lindsey Costas donated children's and women's clothing. A thank you was sent.
- It was decided to give our excess school supplies to Jessica Irwin, who teaches at Willard School in Warren. Previously, the supplies were taken to Warren City Schools administration office.
Grahn, KY: 49 trips
Becky stated there was not much to take for the next trip. There are 6-8 boxes of clothing, 2 lamps, a booster seat, playpen, large
plastic toy and fabric for quilting.
A motion was made for hotel, gasoline, and food for the food pantry ($500) for the next trip to Grahn. Robin Hefner made a motion to
accept the distribution of money and Georgann Haines seconded it.
A workday to pack supplies was scheduled for May 11, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at NAPA.
- Supplies for 2026 backpacks - backpacks - >20, Skechers backpacks - 3; binders - 6, book covers - 25, Composition notebooks - 15, Crayons - (24 pk.) - 31, erasers - approx. 52, pencil top erasers - 50, filler paper - 12 - open and put some in each binder, folders - 28(put folders with holes in each binder), glue sticks - 2, highliters - 4, lip gloss - 3, markers - 0 pkgs., spiral notebooks (1 subject) - 1 box + 43, pencil boxes - 0 pencil pouches - 27, pencils - lots, pencils (colored) - 12, pencils (mechanical)- 40, pencil sharpeners - 4, pens - 66 rulers - 17, scissors (large) - 20, Girls T-shirts have 2, Boys' T-shirts - 2; low/orange), Boys -
Fundraising:
- Recap of March Quiz Night-There were were 11 teams, 77 player. Admission - $770, 50/50/- $48, Basket raffle - $126, donations - $14. Expenses were $64, with a net profit of $895. Becky asked if we thought that 5 instead of 6 rounds was adequate and everyone agreed to 5 rounds. Becky also asked for opinions on the number of soups and everyone felt that 6 soups were adequate. Sharon Hopkins felt that Quiz Night was very profitable. Input was asked about leftovers (12 cookies and some poke cake left). Becky wanted to make sure the staffing of the kitchen was adequate. The desserts were donated by Robin Hefner - 72 Cheryl's cookies, Mary Ann Reynolds - 2 poke cakes and a pineapple dessert, Martha Urchek - a parfait with pistachio pudding.
Tentative dates for next Quiz Night was discussed with 9/19 and 9/26 as possibilities. Becky will check with St. Robert Church calendar to make sure which dates the parish hall is available.
Communication:
-LOAF Report-Easter Sunrise service was held at the Mosquito Lake beach area. Pastor Dave Vencel presided. LOAF will have a booth at the street fair near the children's area. a craft will be provided for them. The LOAF Vacation Bible School will be held the following week, June 29-July 2. Volunteers are needed. Robin Hefner stated that the VBS announcement should be put in the church bulletin. Also an article should be put in the bulletin the beginning of July requesting school supplies for Grahn backpacks. The items needed will be listed.
New Business: No new business was discussed.
The next meeting is Monday, August 3, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. in the Father Kish Parish Hall.
